Bexhill and Battle Labour Party Chair, Cllr Christine Bayliss, and our Trade Union Liaison Officer, Cllr Mark Legg, have written to the Chair of the East Sussex Fire Authority to set out our concerns about the proposed cuts to our local Fire and Rescue Service. The reductions in both staffing levels and appliances means that large areas of Bexhill and Battle could be without immediate cover, putting people’s lives at risk. The Labour Party stands with our local fire fighters and residents in opposing these cuts.
