Elly has spent more than 20 years working in press and communications. Starting out as a local newspaper journalist after graduating from university, Elly has since held PR positions at national charities including ChildLine and the NSPCC. For the last 17 years she has worked in the campaigns and communications team at the Trades Union Congress (TUC). Elly is passionate about the values of the trade union movement – equality, fairness, justice, dignity and respect.
Elly moved to Bexhill in 2017 with her husband and two young daughters, and has been involved in community life ever since. She was a town councillor for Sackville ward for two and a half years and was recently elected as Vice Chair of Bexhill’s first ever trades council. She is a school governor, a trustee of the Bexhill Trust and a regular volunteer at the food bank.
Elly is delighted to be the new Chair of Bexhill and Battle Labour party at such a pivotal time for Labour.
